Warm Winter's Blanket

As a photographer with a photographic memory I visualize scenes that I witnessed, often years prior, and set a visual bookmark to make sure when the time is right to take a photo like what I saw a long time. Case in point, I was in the mountains a few weeks ago and I have been looking for a snowy tree photo for years and haven't found a scene that "looks" the way I want it to. Finally, after a decent snowstorm I was able to find that scene with great light; something that is just icing on the cake when it comes to creating a photo similar to one that I saw all these years ago.

In a former life, I used to work for a ski area in Colorado and I was blessed to witness some of the most beautiful and breathtaking landscape scenes I've ever seen...and I didn't have a camera with me. But I created a memory that if I'm in similar conditions, I will do my best to remember how it looked on that day.

I posted this photo to facebook and I had my friends name it, the name that got the most likes was "Winter's Blanket" and the name really grew on me. So without waxing poetic any further, enjoy the photo below.
