Mesa Arch Sunrise

was tired, grumpy, and impatient as we walked the short walk to Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park back in December. Why? Very selfish, prideful reasons really. I didn’t want to be at Mesa Arch because as I told Rick, “there is one shot, and everyone has taken it”. I was referring to the sunrise glow at Mesa Arch which, while beautiful, has been shot to death. So why wake up early in the morning to shoot something like Mesa Arch?

Lake Marie Sunrise

Lake Marie, in the Snowy Range outside of Laramie, WY, is a gorgeous high-alpine lake that is absolutely spectacular at sunrise. Though I cannot be sure, the John Prine song might be named after this lake. I've visited the lake on a few different occasions and each time I come back with new and interesting images.
