Great Sand Dunes National Park is one of my favorite places to do photography because the landscape is always changing; the constant wind subtly shapes the dunes, erasing footprints, and reclaiming anything left behind.

Walking around Great Sand Dunes National Park is an adventure in shadows. The light does funny things on the sand at certain angles because it doesn't give off a warm light until later in the afternoon. When the sun is still higher in the sky, the sand almost looks white but the shadows and contours take on blues with the lower color temperature. It's a visual treat being out there
