900 Meters of Waterfalls - Hraunfossar

Hraunfossar is one of the "lesser known" waterfalls in Iceland and by saying that, it's still pretty darn well known. While not up there with the big three in the Golden Circle or Kirkjufellsfoss, Hraunfossar is a unique experience because there are over 900(0) meters of small waterfalls that all flow into the Hvita River. Also, read about how I was an ignorant American tourist!

Underrated Spot in Colorado: Creede

Creede, Colorado is near where I grew up and always has held a special place in my heart, not only in its beauty, but memories both fond and painful. One of my favorite places to visit in the summer, Creede offers loads of spectacular landscapes and also features the nationally-recognized Creede Repertory Theater. Take a trip with me and I'll show you where you can find the goods when visiting Creede.

Lake Ice Formations - Blue Mesa Reservoir, CO

Living in Gunnison, CO has its idiosyncrasies of being one of the coldest places in the United States. There is usually plenty of snow to play on but everyone's hygiene is questionable. It regularly gets below -20F but that also makes the lake ice at Blue Mesa Reservoir an amazing sight. Here I learned to seek a new perspective and look down, take in the details, and you might find something magical.

Iceland + Puffins = Winning

We created our own little tour and took a jaunt to Borgarfjörður Eystri to search out puffins. Overall, this was one of the most fun days we spent in Iceland and one that I will remember for the rest of my life. We spent 5 hours in Borgarfjörður Eystri and those could have been some of the best 5 hours that I had in all of 2017.

One Crazy Week - Emergency Passport

Have you ever been preparing for an international trip and suddenly panic, "oh no, where's my passport?" Lots of us have. I found myself in that boat last year when I was preparing to go on a dream trip to Iceland, I searched high and low for the passport that I hadn't seen in over a year. I turned my house upside down, the garage was thoroughly searched, boxes from my old apartment were torn apart, and yet I found no sign of my passport. With no other answers, I messaged the organizer of the trip that I wouldn't be going.

Took a dream trip to Iceland back in May 2017 and instead of returning to edit photos of the trip, I returned to file insurance because I lost my equipment to a waterfall. How did this happen? How am I going to replace my equipment? Did I get a girlfriend? All will be answered in the blog!

Crested Butte Snow in the Fall

This one saying is almost always true; "bad weather makes for good photos". We found out just how true that saying would be on a recent trip to Crested Butte and Aspen during the peak of the fall foliage during September. Kebler Pass is a mecca for photographers during the fall and it's no wonder why with the sprawling vistas of golden aspen trees. Our trip down there was primarily to camp but the weather didn't allow for us to enjoy camping much.

My Review of Canon EF 11-24mm Wide Angle Lens

I rented Canon's 11-24mm f/4 lens for a little while and have a review on my experiences with that lens. Was the price and weight worth the extremely wide rectilinear lens, how would it handle Denver's sunflowers, and is it possible to shoot portraits with this lens? All and more will be answered within.

Why Wide-Angle Landscape Photography is Too Easy

There are lots of reasons that we love wide-angle nature and landscape photography, it's grand, powerful, and you really feel like you're in the photo. Which is the ideal of landscape photography if I'm not mistaken. But because I needed something to write about and I have lots of photos that I need a reason to share, let's dive into why you should ditch your 16-35mm f/4L lens and zoom in more!
